When Jesus came…

The judge of the world did not come in raining fire, although he could. The purifying light of the world did not come in a holy conflagration, although he could. The host of the angel armies did not come on a mighty steed armed for battle; although he could. The immortal one, the Alpha and Omega, did not come with invincible power, although he could.

He came as a baby. He walked; he hungered; he cried. He rode on a colt. He bled. He died.

A bruised reed he will not break; a smouldering wick he will not snuff out.
